One of America's best young house producers, Kevin Yost has translated his jazz inspirations and percussion inclinations into dance productions of quiet beauty, harnessing the vibes of sublime domestic producers from Larry Heard to Derrick May. An early fan of jazz fusion and a drummer as well, Yost was DJing weddings and the like at the tender age of 13. A contract with Chicago's Guidance label brought his first release, a 1996 EP titled Unprotected Sax. One year later, Yost signed a contract to begin working with the New Jersey acid-jazz-house label i! Records, and in 1998, the single "One Starry Night" became a big mover in progressive house circles.
